3 Signs You Need Air Conditioner Repair

Every home needs an air conditioner (AC) to provide a comfortable indoor environment, improve air quality, reduce insects and parasites, and eliminate pollutants. However, over time, the AC may develop problems due to clogged condenser coils and drains, blocked filters, low refrigerant, fan issues, and thermostat problems. When you notice the warning signs, you should hire a professional to solve AC problems before the system fails. Below are signs you need AC repairs

1. Poor Airflow

When the airflow in your house is insufficient, you might notice hot and cold spots throughout, which can be uncomfortable. This issue is likely due to AC problems. The vents in your AC may be blocked by dirt, debris, or furniture. Wipe your vents to keep them clean and move any furniture that may be blocking them.

Clogged filters can also cause poor airflow. Your AC filters usually remove dust particles from the air. Therefore, they will eventually become clogged and affect the unit's efficiency. This will lead to insufficient airflow and poor air quality.

Besides, if you place your hand near the vents or notice the unit is blowing cool air but the airflow is not strong enough to reach the whole house, your AC fan probably has a problem. It is important to call a professional to check the underlying issue and solve it.

2. Warm Air

You should be alarmed if your AC is releasing warm air. A properly functioning AC sucks warm air from the house and releases cool air. If you are feeling warm air, vital parts like the compressor, condenser, and evaporator coils may have issues. This problem can also be caused by a refrigerant leak. When your refrigerant leaks, its level will lower significantly, which means that your AC won't receive adequate charge to complete the cooling process.

Fortunately, AC repairs can help solve these problems and ensure your AC functions as expected. However, you should ensure you check your thermostat settings before you call an expert. The cool setting should be selected, and the fan should be set to Auto.

3. Short Cycling

If your AC is running in short cycles, which means that it is stopping and starting frequently, it has a problem. Short cycling is caused by low refrigerant levels, clogged air filters, a damaged compressor, or a poorly placed thermostat. You should call an expert to inspect your AC for repair.

AC repairs can help save your unit from breaking down. If you notice any of these warning signs, you should get professional help. Take your time to identify a competent AC repair technician for quality services.
